Look For Me In Rainbows….

Along with a large percentage of the rest of the world, I have been following the headlines  and social media commentary related to the Pulse Nightclub tragedy in Orlando.

I’ve read the coverage devoted to our potential presidential nominee’s….who leapt onto their soapboxes to promote their various agendas and opinions….before the bodies were even cleared from the scene.

I’ve seen the #prayfororlando hashtag circulating across every social media platform as the official slogan.

I’ve read the conspiracy theories that suggest the entire event was a hoax meant to ignite the public into demanding tougher laws surrounding gun control and immigration….all well timed with elections right around the corner….if you ask them.

I’ve also read the stories about the victims.  The innocent human beings who went out for a night of socializing with friends….who were on dates or out looking for dates….who were celebrating or working….and whose lives were ended in a place that was only supposed to be fun.

Each time I’ve read, I think, How sad.  How tragic.

But today, I saw this image with the headline:

Rainbow Appears Over Pulse Nightclub After Tragic Orlando Massacre

Though I don’t subscribe to any particular religion, I do consider myself a spiritual and faithful person and the image reminded me of a Bible verse from Genesis I knew as a kid.

God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth.”

I thought, How Hopeful.
